Each year on October 29 - officially recognized as Augustus Britton Day in the city of Austin - our community gathers to honor the incredible life and light of Gus Britton. What began as a simple moment of remembrance has grown into a beautiful evening of hope, connection, and purpose.

Now in its third year, Light Up the Night for Gus marks the first official event of the Augustus the Warrior Foundation, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this milestone with you.

New This Year: The Light the Way Walk

Join us at 7:00 PM for our newest tradition- The Light the Way Walk, a short walk, skip, or run with six stops of fun activities that celebrate Gus’s six joyful years of life. Registration is $25 and includes an event t-shirt. Please register by October 22 to guarantee your shirt.

At 7:30 PM, we’ll gather indoors for a short presentation, followed by our signature moment at 8:00 PM. When together, we’ll step outside and shine our flashlights to the sky for one full minute in honor of Gus and every child courageously fighting cancer.

Whether you join us in person or take part virtually from wherever you are, your light matters. Every flashlight, every registration, and every donation helps us continue Gus’s legacy of giving. This year we will be supporting kids who will be inpatient during the Christmas season at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and funding the mission of the Augustus the Warrior Foundation.
