Light Up The Night For Gus

Each year on October 29 - officially recognized as Augustus Britton Day in the city of Austin - our community gathers to honor the incredible life and light of Gus Britton. What began as a simple moment of remembrance has grown into a beautiful evening of hope, connection, and purpose.

Details for 2026 will be announced at a later date.

The Meaning Behind October 29th

Ever wondered why Light Up the Night for Gus is held on October 29th?

We know- it’s a school night … but it’s also a very special day. It’s Gus’s birthday, and we’d be so honored to have you celebrate with us.

On April 24, 2023, the Mayor of Austin, Arkansas, Bernie Chamberlain, signed a proclamation officially declaring October 29th as Augustus Britton Day in the city of Austin. In that proclamation, she encouraged everyone to remember Gus and to do something kind in honor of children fighting cancer.

That same day, we planted an evergreen tree at Austin City Hall, a lasting symbol of Gus’s light and love that continues to grow each year.

We can’t wait for you to join us this October 29th as we celebrate Gus’s life, his light, and continue raising funds for the Augustus the Warrior Foundation

Let’s come together to make this year the brightest one yet! For Gus, for the kids still fighting, and for the hope that shines on through it all.

We Can’t Wait To See You There!
